Salt Clay......
This "salt clay" can be used for making ornaments, beads etc.... After making the dough, either add coloring directly to the dough or paint your project later.....
You need:
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 cups salt
- water
Instructions:
- Mix 2 cups salt and 2/3 cup water in a pan. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly for few minutes - - don't bring it to boil. Remove from heat.
- Mix cornstarch with 1/2 cup water and add it into heated mixture. Stir and mix quickly. If resulting mixture is not a thick paste, place back on low heat and stir until mixture is doughlike. You can add food coloring if you wish or paint your project later.....
- take the dough out on a your worksurface and make whatever you please from this dough -- ornaments, beads etc...
- this dough can be "baked" (leave in preheated oven to 350 degrees F which you turn off as soon as you put your dough in) or left to dry at room temperature
Can be stored in plastic or foil and kept in an airtight container.
